NAIS-500 Software Update

This is an update from the previous v1.2.8.01 production firmware:

• Fixed an issue in v1.2.8.07 where the incorrect MMSI could be transmitted.
• Fixed an issue when the device is above 500m altitude.

Enhancements:

• Optimize GNSS data conversion from NMEA0183 to NMEA2000.
• Minor updates various NMEA2000 PGN’s.
• Add EPFD field to AIS Message 24B formatter to meet ITU-R M.1371-5 requirement.
• Add NMEA0183 VTG sentence (transmit)

Upgrade Instructions:

1. Download the NAIS-500 Software (SW_AIS_NAIS-500_V1.2.8.08.zip).
2. Unzip the software to a local drive.
3. Click on NAIS-FirmwareUpgradeSetup.exe to install the AIS Firmware Upgrade program.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation
5. When the installation completes you can launch the updater. See next step for updating the NAIS-500.

Upgrade the NAIS-500:

Ensure the NAIS Firmware Upgrader is installed first.

1. Disconnect power to the NAIS-500 then start the upgrade program.
2. Connect the NAIS-500 to a powered USB connection on the computer using the USB-A - USB-Mini cable.
3. Confirm the version and select Next to continue to upgrade.
4. When the upgrade is complete, power off the NAIS-500 and restart, this completes the upgrade.
